Short of blog ideas? 7 tips for finding blog subjects your readers will love.

Find A Years Worth Of Blog Topics (in less Time Than It Takes To Drink a coffee) with these 7 tips.

The monthly or weekly battle to come up with ideas for the next blog can be such a pain that the blog never even gets written! Not only is that sad, as I'm sure you have something worthwhile to say, but it's also not great for business.

Whilst blogs are great for SEO and all that good stuff, they're also a great way to educate people who visit your website or social media page. Far from just looking pretty, blogs can show authority, help people get to know you and educate them so they're more likely to become customers, which can only be good.

To reduce the need for the regular battle for blog ideas, I'll show you what I do for myself and my clients to ensure we're never short of ideas.

Here are my 7 tips for finding good blog subjects.

  1. Keep a note of the questions that are asked most frequently. Many more people will likely have the same question, so they're worth answering in a blog.

  2. What are the things people need to know before buying from you? It could be statistics, knowledge or something unique about your business. Use these as subjects for a blog, and they'll educate people as they check your out (which most people do before making contact) and make them more likely to buy from you in the future.

  3. Use Answer The Public. Enter a topic into the search bar, and you'll be given a multitude of questions that people ask. Note down the best ones, and you'll have blog subjects for many months.

  4. Google a frequently asked question or something relevant to your industry. Then scroll down the page a little to find "People Also Asked... This will show you a list of potential blog ideas. Top Tip - as you open up each question, more will appear. Make a note of them, and you will have lots of ideas for future blogs.

  5. Look at your competitor's blogs. Are there any popular blogs you can improve on or write from a different angle? The subject interests people, so it is worth taking the time to write something from your point of view. Just write it from your angle, and don't just copy it.

  6. What are the common objections you hear from prospects or potential clients? Answer these in your blog and put their minds at ease when they're checking you out online. That way, they can be a step closer to buying from you when they get in touch.

  7. Create a handy checklist. Help your reader and show them you have expertise in the subject. This will help to build authority and trust. An example for me could be a checklist for writing a blog, email or sales page.

It can be hard to think of blog ideas, but using the tips I have given here will give you months, if not a whole year, of ideas.

Then all you need to do is write the blog. Writing blogs can take time, but once done, they can stay on your website and remain relevant for many years, which makes them well worth the effort.
